Balance – Find Your Center
Let's move on to the fourth area of fitness training: coordination, which is closely linked to balance. We have already explained that the jumping mat, held together with powerful elastic rings, offers an unstable landing point that puts your body into action. To combat the imbalance, the body performs small evasive movements and stabilizes itself. It’s the optimal training to develop one’s sense of balance and coordination. Both are enormously important (for instance, they prevent falls).
Balance Starts in the Brain
A well-trained sense of coordination and balance has even more benefits. To explain this, first we must acknowledge that the cerebellum is responsible for movement. Like every part of the brain, the cerebellum is capable of learning. The more often we train it, the better it gets. More specifically, the more often you train your sense of balance on the IKON, the better it gets. Additionally, we know that other areas of your brain benefit from movement—trampoline workouts make you smarter.
Do you feel unsteady at first, or don’t trust your sense of balance yet? No problem, IKON trampolines come with a height-adjustable handlebar for you to grip and hold on to. As you improve, the rod can be removed in a few simple steps.
