Cardio for the Heart
This is one thing all physicians and scientists agree on: Moderate and regular endurance training is the best thing you can do for your heart. "Endurance training contributes significantly to the development and maintenance of a good state of health." (Source: R. F. Schmidt and F. Lang (ed.): Physiology of Man, Springer, Heidelberg 2007, p. 939). Another term for endurance training is cardio training. In addition to the "usual suspects,” like jogging, swimming and cycling, working out on a trampoline is ideal to keep the heart healthy and maintain efficient circulation. The advantages are huge: there is less stress on the joints, over 400 muscles are used, and regardless of the weather, can be done easily. Additionally, numerous studies show that trampoline training is even more effective than jogging.
Increase Your Basal Metabolic Rate
We know the truth: While the many benefits of trampoline workouts are wonderful, losing kilos so easily makes us happy. Losing weight is a good thing not just for your self-esteem, but because of the strain extra weight puts on our cardiovascular system and skeleton. Working out on a trampoline counteracts this, strengthens the muscles, and increases your basal metabolic rate. The basal metabolic rate is the number of calories you automatically burn throughout the day. It depends on many factors, such as age, weight and degree of activity. Although you cannot change your age, you can change the weight and the movement. Jump, bounce, or jog in place as often as possible on your IKON, and increase your body’s basal metabolic rate. Not only will you burn more calories while exercising, but you will continue burning calories afterwards!
Professional and Recreational Athletes
The positive effects of working out on a trampoline are well-known among professional athletes. Whether they are cross-country skiers or boxers, many athletes prepare themselves for competitions with trampoline training.
